How much fun: This is purely subjective, my sons will sometimes forget about the toy and play instead with the box it came in. Fun is in the mind and the heart, not in plastic.
Educational: these are plastic toys depicting fictional evil Ninja with completely unrealistic abilities. Your child should learn not to approach fictional characters (or people who pretend to be one). This is probably a good life lesson, so sure, it's educational.
Durability - Plastic is a fine material but is not indestructible, and is definitely not bulletproof. Most plastic toys do not last a year. This is China's fault. Be thankful that they don't contain lead (as far as I know) and move on.
